Dr. Stewart Cobb (Satelles) participated in the ESA navitec 2016 International Conference (Navigating the Future of Transportation) held December 14-16, 2016 at the Space Research and Technology Centre of the European Space Agency (ESA/ESTEC) in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
navitec 2016 provided an open forum for space and terrestrial satellite navigation technology designers, developers, integrators, users, universities and agency representatives. Navitec focused on navigation technologies and techniques leading to significant enhancement of the user performance, enablers for future applications, and solutions for challenging environments.
Dr. Cobb participated in the conference’s Navigating the future of Transport Round Table on December 14th at 9:45 am. Other Round Table participants included: Dr. Gerard Lachapelle (moderator and chair), University of Calgary; Mika Rytkönen, Head of Business Development, HERE; Nick Lambert, Maritime Domain Expert, Satellite Applications Catapult; Salvatore Sabina, Vice President Program Manager of Satellite Projects, Ansaldo STS; Demoz Gebre Egziabher, Associate Professor, Director of Graduate Studies, University of Minnesota; Rune Strandli, Global R&D Manager Positioning Business Line, Fugro; and Daniele Borio, Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Unit Institute for the Protection and Security of Citizen (IPSC).
The scope of this year’s conference included navigation equipment and techniques: receivers, payloads, signals, navigation algorithms, signal processing techniques and applications of GNSS (terrestrial and space).
